‘Ode To Summer Light’
by Elizabeth Wyatt
“Summer sunshine shining bright,
All around a welcoming sight,
Winter darkness gone for now,
Long light evenings, wow, wow, wow,
When it’s light we feel much better,
Dressed in shorts, without a sweater,
The summer light uplifts our mood,
Fun for all, that is good,
A BBQ, with a glass of Punch,
Outside enjoying a carefree lunch,
Children playing, having fun,
As all enjoy the summer sun,
So, let’s enjoy each summer time,
Long light days, ain’t no crime,
It’s good each day to feel so bright,
Summer light, a welcoming sight!”
A poem by Surrey resident, Elizabeth Wyatt, I’m missing summer already!
