‘Lonely Daze’ by Kate Tempest

‘Lonely Daze’

by Kate Tempest

“…Becky is a young woman
Heart full of earth
Eyes full of mornings
Spent without sleeping
Grew up in a city where it’s hard to be heard
And nothing really has much meaning…”

You can read the lyrics in full here. Kate Tempest is first and foremost a poet, spoken word artist and playwright. She has also delved into music with fantastic results when her album, Everybody Down was nominated for the 2014 Mercury Prize. You can read more of her work through Surrey Libraries.
