Arcadian bookshelves in a loving library

Ranged in rows amidst the Surrey Hills

A chance to pause, to breath the silken air

Where Bachus can be found outside

Reclining in bucolic mood

And listening to Apollo’s strains within

Before he has to get back to work

As we all must do

Until the next time we can have this secret tryst

To read, to dream, to while away a stolen hour

When we should be doing something else…
